Eleanor Roosevelt

My daughter's 3rd grade class did a wax museum project last week. Each child selected a famous person, wrote a report and prepared some index cards for a 2-3 minute speech. Anna did hers on (Anna) Eleanor Roosevelt. We needed to find an outfit & props, so I took in one of my old suits and then we worked out how to make a hat that was inspired by the 1940's/50's fashion. It turned out pretty well. I had some great fabric flowers in coordinating colors available courtesy of the 220+ flowers I cut out in preparation for the Discovery Day "Sew Simple" activity I ran on May 29th. The final props were a Roosevelt pin, a Presidential pin and a handmade copy of Eleanor's book "This in My Story".
