Colonial Day

School Colonial Day: The amazing internet provided the patterns and instructions for the bonnet and peasant top. The skirt was so simple, no pattern was necessary, and the apron was from the Spring 2013 issue of Ottobre Magazine. I had a very happy 5th grader, and that's what counts :-)

Messenger Mania

I found this wonderful Reversible Messenger Bag pattern & tutorial on the Crazy Little Projects blog, and I guess I've gone a little crazy with it. The top picture is a bag I made for my sister, and the two lower sets of photos are of birthday gifts I made for my daughter's friends. They are DIY Science Kits, as tested at my youngest daughter's 7th birthday party (what super science projects they are and, oh, the fun & chaos we had at that party).

Warm Thoughts from Afar

Not made a quilt in a while.... Madeleine's baby quilt has still not materialized and she turned 7 recently, so you can see how long it's been. I really enjoyed planning and making this quilt and I'm so pleased with the way the star and windmill triangle appliques turned out.

A friend is dealing with some health issues with such strength and humour. I really admire her and her family. Being so far away there's not a lot of practical help & support I can offer so I made this quilt to keep her warm and let her know that I'm thinking of her and wishing her a speedy recovery.
